I think this goes for many "groups" of people. They seem to have a sense of entitlement just because they are part of "this" group (race, gender, sexual identity).

I agree that Brian got it right. He handled it very maturely and let Kip know that he's just not ready. He didn't say never, he said not yet. He acknowledged that Kip was good at what he did, but was not ready to be promoted. I thought it was really bad form that Kip filed a complaint. It was desperate and distasteful.

On the flip side, THAT scene was really hot!

P.S. At 2:52 the letter opener hits the floor, then is immediately back on the desk.
I would have to agree with all of this. All groups tend to feel a sense of entitlement at times, but they're not owed anything just because they can related in a certain way. I think Brian handled it well.

OMG, that makes the third time I've watched that scene in two days.

OMG you're right about the letter opener!! I'm going to notice that every time now.
