It's actually the night of Prom the episode aires Liz does a voice over in her journal.
Liz: It's April 27th. I'm Liz Parker and I think I've figured out why I haven't written in this journal in nearly a year.
They were a week early because Off the Menu was going to air after Viva Las Vegas. However I remember on the news there was a shooting so the WB decided to pushed Off The Menu back because it dealt with gun violence and had Heart Of Mine aired instead.
The prom is on April 27th, 2001. Remember that the events in 'Off the Menu' took place before this episode. Hence why Max is starting to remember his home planet after he gets flashes of his past life and starts to remember Tess at the end of Off The Menu.
