Considering the state of my vision, I'd love it if blindness is eradicated. Although robotic eyes doesn't necessarily mean that blindness is eradicated. There are many cases of blindness that have nothing to do with the eyeball. In my personal case - I'm blind in one eye - it's because of deterioration of the optic nerve caused by antibiotics my mother took while she was pregnant. A robotic eyeball wouldn't actually be of any help to me.
