Pun intended, I guess Mindhunter is too fringe for the Emmy's. These days I don't believe the Emmy's are about acting anymore. They are about who does the most socially relevant show. You can't simply provide really good entertainment and expect to win. You have to have a show that points out an injustice or teaches a lesson. I have no problem with shows that do that - but if they want to make an award for that they should have "Most socially relevant show" as a category and let the acting and directing and other awards be for excellence in those fields, regardless of the subject matter.
