I think it did as well as can be expected back then, but if there would have been Netflix back then I think it would have done even better. It surprises me how many fans have discovered the show, or rediscovered the show when it released on Netflix.

That said, the biggest ''problem'' has always been the title imo. When you hear the name ''Gilmore Girls'' it's easy to assume it's just a girly rom-com kind of show. It's the main reason why most of my friends didn't check it our for years. When I got most of them to watch some episodes they were instantly hooked. They admitted that the show is so much more than what they thought at first. I don't know which title they should have used instead, but yeah, it would have done better with another title imo. Guess we will never know.

Years later it's still my favorite show ever. We watch A LOT of shows and there are plenty that are outstanding. Making a top 10 of favorite shows is pretty hard, but naming my number 1 is always very easy. The show just had something that cannot be described. It has the power to make me happy when I'm sad, but it also makes me even happier when I'm already quite happy to begin with.
