Comments: In the episode, Kitty’s line upon discovering Hyde and Jackie kissing indicates no memory of Hyde and Jackie’s dynamic during seasons 2-3. In “Jackie Bags Hyde” (3x08), however, Kitty is the one who calls Hyde out on his feelings for Jackie and influences him to ask Jackie out on their first date.
I decided to inject continuity into the episodes by changing Kitty’s line. In the comics, she knows Hyde’s carried feelings for Jackie since at least “Jackie Bags Hyde” and believes he hasn’t shared them with Jackie. For her, seeing him kiss Jackie in her kitchen means he finally spoke up.
If only she knew he was continuing to hide the depth of what he feels for Jackie – and, ultimately, would for quite a while, revealing them only bit-by-bit.
