Yeah I've been wondering about that. At what point did Newt finally figured out that Graves was Grindelwald. My friend also said that we might see, in part 2, Dumbledore order Newt to find Grindelwald (this was mentioned in the teaser trailer) and that while his reason for going to NYC was to free the Thunderbird, another reason is for him to look for Grindelwald.
