I didn't have a clue what southpaw meant, then.
As I say that hospital has been demolished now, there's a helipad where it once stood. But the Victorian type wards are still around other places. It did have private rooms as I said, but you had to pay for those, I didn't because the ward was full, but they did try to charge me.
I didn't like the noise.
But on balance I liked having people to talk to.
They seemed quite unprepared for having that happen to me.
I had no help the next morning, and no help with the baby, it was lucky I could get out of bed. It also didn't help they'd left my bags on the ward, so I had no nappies. I kept asking for them, and they'd come back saying I didn't have any. I'm saying you must have looked in the wrong bag! Eventually I persuaded someone to bring my bags down so I could change her.
