I don't think it's hypocritical at all to like and respect what Milo does as Jack Pearson in This Is Us but not care for his character in Gilmore Girls. I take some issue with the writing of Jess, NOT the performance from Milo, there's a huge difference. I know many people who are Jess fans who hate Logan but appreciate Matt in The Good Wife or The Resident and I wouldn't ever call them hypocrites.

I feel/get defensive sometimes especially on tumblr where the brunt of hate on his character occurs (gotten pretty good at filtering it) but it's good to hear that you still like his performance even if you still have the issue with the writing of his character
sometimes people just love to bash his character though
Personally overall I like how they wrote his character (he definitely has one of the best character arcs on the show). But part of me still thinks the events at the end of S3 was influenced by the spin-off that didn't happen.
