| I guess it is appropriate to start over with what is probably the first vampire movie ever made: Nosferatu: Silent film released in 1922. B&W, or, more accurately, IMO, sepia & white and occasionally bluish & white. Same vampire story that has been filmed over and over based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, only the director changed the names and locations because he did not have permission to use the story. Anyway, it was kind of creepy and the lack of special effects did not bother me - the bizarre carriage ride through the white forest was kind of cool. Also, there were definite moments of overacting which may be attributable to the era and lack of dialogue. All in all, more an interesting experience than a "great" movie - whatever that means. |
