If you really want to see the special features, then I suggest buying a Blu-ray player. Not only for the features, but the picture quality is also higher than the DVD and you can also play DVDs as well. Buy it when you can afford them.
I'm never upgrading to 4K though. Blu-ray is good enough for me.
