Yes, this board is definitely close to a 20-year anniversary. I joined in 1999 because of the Dawson’s Creek board.
It was funny because during the reunion special both Katie and Kevin Williamson said the show pre-dated social media and the couple wars, and while it pre-dated social media it certainly didn’t pre-date couple wars. It got so bad on here the DC board moderator instituted those rules about being respectful to others and their opinions, no bashing of the characters outside of the Anti threads, and that the board is PG-13 so people had to stop cursing each other out. That’s why I stopped posting here very much. I needed to be free in my fury and loathing.
But having these rules ended up being a good thing. I think that’s why people still come here, two decades later.
