Maybe her arc this season will be about unlearning that behaviour, up letting people back in, not suppressing emotions.

I agree, and I'm guessing that the scene of her attacking the people in the bunker for disobedience happened early on (first year in the bunker) so by year 6, it must be ingrained in her quite deeply ... even if she originally didn't believe it herself.
Plus, there must have been a reason why they couldn't get out of the bunker after 5 years lapsed so I'm sure that would have affected Octavia a lot (as the leader) and trying to deal with people's desperation to finally get out of the bunker.
I really hope that her arc will be in that direction, I really don't want it to be her becoming darker and darker just to make her ~edgy/whatever. I want to see her healing and learning to let people in again.
