So bittersweet. How they both wanted it to be so different. And yet both were their due to their choices, whether they had voiced them at the time or not. Jason sold that scene. You really felt for the guiltridden Max. He really didn't want to leave, but felt obligated. And Liz after the rant at the school, was feeling sorrow... They loved each other so much, and it didn't seem fair...
Ultimately they got their happy ending, but it had to be messy to get there...
