I completely agree with this! I couldn't believe that McGee did this and that the writers actually wrote McGee to be a bit stupid in that scene. I mean I know they had to have some way to get Hicks inside the apartment, but come on. To have a trained agent make that many mistakes in a few seconds... just no.
