I personally agree.
Although I admit when the episodes were airing, I wasn't a shipper of them and I didn't really ship Gunn with anyone! I just loved him being a badda$$ and loved the friendship with Gunn/Angel, especially in the beginning of season 2, end of season 1.
However, when I look back on it, I adore them together and even when I didn't ship them, I didn't see them odd.
