I feel for Spinner!Rumple so much, and it makes me angry when I see people saying that this episode showed that he was always power-hungry/evil. I mean, his desperation was made perfectly clear (you only need to watch the scene with him and beggar!zoso talking by the fireside to see it
), and he just wanted to save his son (and the other kids). Because Bae was everything to him, literally. Much like Cinderella, Rumple was just a simple, downtrodden peasant who didn't understand what exactly he was getting into and that he was being manipulated until it was too late.
