This movie definitely surprised me. With how terrible comedies have been lately, I didn’t expect more than a few good jokes here and there but it was consistently funny and entertaining. Each cast member has great comedic timing so the performances were solid across the board, with Jesse Plemons probably being the standout. Not to mention, a kickass score from Cliff Martinez (I mean, how often do we hear synthwave in a comedy?). The film also has some unique cinematography choices made throughout, often using pulling focus to make the characters and their cars look like game pieces on the board that is the city. It isn’t a perfect movie but it was much better than it should have been and is totally worth checking out. Also, Rachel McAdams is very attractive.
