I still don't remember season 2 for the most part. I remember Taylor, and Haley's dreadful tour that I am now once again questioning the motives of (did he ship Joy off because she stood up to him or something?).
If Chad had stayed longer then his character would have been damaged more, and they'd done that more than enough. They didn't even properly redeem him after season 5 so I have no doubt they would have done more damage than good if he had stayed.
I watched 7-9. Didn't like Clay so I kind of skipped through it.

I remember reading an interview where Hilarie said the plan was for Brooke and Lucas to be together which I found strange reading as I remember at the time most people where rooting for Leyton and from the very beginning of series one the focus was on Leyton

Iirc, someone that was there when she said it explained on twitter that she was being asked specifically about the end of season 3 had the show not been renewed. It was over a year ago so idk where to find it now.
