I was confused when Chris Carter said that he wanted to return to the sexual tension for season 10, kind of implying that he blamed audiences losing interest on M/S getting together, but I really can’t think of many episodes where we see them as a couple? It was left so ambiguous in season 8 even, it’s really only the season 8 and 9 finales where we saw them as a romantic couple, and then the few scenes they were together in the movie
I think it would be a fun change of pace to have episodes where Mulder and Scully are a couple and working a case together, it doesn’t have to take over the episode, it could just be low-key flirty looks and comments
