LOL - except that I spelled 'unparalleled' incorrectly.
I just read a fic by Frayach called A Feeling of Forever. She dedicated this to Cowlip because she said she saw them at a TV conference in Austin, or something like that. She said she regaled them with questions about B/J post 513 and they insisted B/J stayed together. But, she didn't say anything about Cowlips' explanation as to why Justin wasn't in Babylon in the final scene. Does anybody know how they managed to justify that?
Frayach's commenters said they doubt that was Cowlips' original intention for B/J and that Cowlip was just brow-beaten by such angry fans. I happened to agree with that.
However, I'll take what I can get at this point. If Cowlip want to do a 180 12 years later that's fine by me. I just want "canon" aka "Cowlip" to tell me why Justin wasn't there and that B/J wound up together and I'll be OK.
My standards have lowered because I understand now that I'm inconsolable.
