Agree. And that he had to make a choice between Michael & Spock that he still feels guilty about.

I thought the same thing about holodecks, but as a lot of the technology is based around holograms, in this version of the future, it doesn't bother me. All the different shows show a version of the future which is influenced by the current technology of the time in which they are made. That's just the way they go.

You have a point there. And since I'm used to seeing holodecks in the franchise, it doesn't seem too out of place. Perhaps this was a more basic version of a holodeck?
