Just finished watching this. I really enjoyed this episode. I'm loving how the crew is starting to gel and develop relationships with each other, it's nice!
I found myself really liking Ash in this episode.
The backstory with Sarek was interesting. The moral dilemma he had, and the idea of other Vulcans being prejudiced against Spock as well as Michael, was an interesting idea and is nice to see in Star Trek.
As soon as the Admiral said she'd remove Lorca's command when she got back, I thought: 'she's dead'.
I wasn't entirely right, but she is in deep trouble and the Captain doesn't seem too keen to rescue her.
I thought the same thing about holodecks, but as a lot of the technology is based around holograms, in this version of the future, it doesn't bother me. All the different shows show a version of the future which is influenced by the current technology of the time in which they are made. That's just the way they go.
