Yeah & some teams just keep their names from a previous city they were in such as the Utah Jazz as they were originally from New Orleans & Utah really isn't where I'd say people go to listen to Jazz. The Bald eagle is the symbol of the U.S. though I guess ''Eagles'' sound better than being called the ''Bald Eagles''. Another example is the Memphis Grizzlies. They were originally from Vancouver BC, but still kept the name Grizzlies even though I can almost guarantee that no matter how much time you spend im Memphis, TN you won't find any grizzly bears.

Yep, good point.
A lot of those names have lost relevance because the teams aren't where they used to be anymore. But the older teams that have stuck around are still where they are.
