Yeah, it makes no sense. Disney Marvel and Fox are at each other's throats over the rivalry. Their universes are kept strictly separate. Disney Marvel has lashed out at all the comic book properties for which the film rights are owned by Fox. That's why the Fantastic Four comic was cancelled, that's why Wolverine was killed in the comics, that's why X-Men comic writers are forbidden from inventing any new X-Men characters, that's why the original comic boook Cyclops will remain dead, that's why Marvel has been steadily crushing the X-Men area of the Marvel comics universe. The two companies are bitter rivals over their Marvel-derived movie franchises and the two screen universes are kept strictly separate. They are rival franchises, there's no denying that.
