I got the impression that Happy had some thoughtful/wistful looks when they were showing the video of the deer momma and her baby in the incubator, and when they were talking about motherhood in general. A lot like at the beginning of the false pregnancy story last season when she was talking to Paige while they were waiting for Ralph at school. I think some of Toby's affection at the end is because he sees it, too. I suspect they were laying a foundation for a discussion pretty soon.
Oh of course! I wonder why they chose that photo to illustrate an article about the new episode?

And yes, we got some lovely Quintis moments, just not quite the conversation I was expecting. I suppose I shouldn't rely too much on spoilers! I do hope they develop that storyline soon. Not that Happy needs to have a baby immediately, but it would be nice to have them talk about their plans for the future

Anyway, after a second viewing, things I particularly loved about this episode:

- Toby! All the Toby-isms. "Easy as A B C-section" which was also brilliant because he was also reassuring Paige with that one. I loved seeing him putting his skills to good use, even though he was way outside of his comfort zone, hence the need for reassurance from Paige. We know he makes jokes when he's nervous so he must have been very nervous!

- Paige! Her maternal instincts were so strong. It's a pity they didn't take the opportunity to squeeze in a Waige moment about it, but I loved that Toby picked up on it.

- Sylvester! I loved how he threw himself (pun intended ) into saving the deer. Although I had some concerns about him, which I'll get to.

- Walter! I thought his attempts to be Cabe were hilarious and also poignant because he's so used to having Cabe there that it must have been difficult to be in a dangerous situation like that knowing Cabe didn't have their backs this time.

- Patty! She was irritating in her previous episode - which was the intention, of course - but I thought she was much better this time and I'm looking forward to seeing her develop and her interactions with Sly. I loved how Cabe was totally bemused by her, but she wasn't phased at all.

- Ralph! It's always good when he helps solve a case.

- Allie! Great to see her back and I don't blame her at all for being mad with Cabe. I'm sure they'll work things out.

Things I didn't like so much:

- Sylvester's rant about saving himself and leaving the deer and her baby to die. I get that he's nervous and he didn't want to get shot, but I felt he came across as totally selfish. If he'd said he didn't want any of his friends to die and they should all get out of there that would have been better, but he just seemed to be worried about saving himself!

- Paige's concern that Toby's anaesthetic would hurt the deer. I know they needed someone to say something so we all remembered about it at the end when it came into play again (yay, Toby!), but it seemed a silly line for her to say. The deer had been shot! I know I'm nitpicking, sorry!

- The suggestion that it could be a year before Cabe's trail date, which makes it sound like he'll be out of Homeland for the whole season! Without a passport he won't be able to accompany the team on any cases which take them out of the country. It was fun to have him staying in the garage for one episode, but I really hope he doesn't end up stuck there too often.
