I just received another request to voluntarily close a board here for a show that's still on the air, and I mentioned this board on the Management Team Board as a shining example of what a board should be. I took out the name of the board that wants to close down on this post in case someone comes over here:

I get that there's a long hiatus between seasons for this show, but we have boards like the Everwood board, which I post on, that hasn't had a new episode in over 11 years, and it's still going strong, and you know why that is? It has dedicated moderators and posters who've built a real community there and it has people who care about the show and who've gotten to know each other, and the atmosphere there is friendly and welcoming. I can understand that it must be frustrating if you and your co-moderator are the only ones posting on a board, but I think that some of these moderators just want to give up too easily and they never really built a community on their boards that make people want to come back and post. This frustrates me to no end.
