Yeah I thought that might be what would happen this year. All the outside Montauk and New York shots will be done first, then they will pack up and do the rest of the indoor shots in a studio in LA. Maybe they have a lot of stock footage left over from previous seasons to fill out any episodes where they are needed. For instance for Montauk a few shots of the beach and lighthouse before showing the rest of the episode indoors, and a few pics of NYC landmarks before the studio footage. I think this is how a lot of series are filmed anyway.
The first episode could be Cole/Helen, especially if one of Helen's family has passed away - re the funereal clothing we have seen 'Luisa' wearing.
