He got a lot of hate on twitter when he left the show. People were attacking him there. I admit, for a time I can't understand why he had to leave after 3 seasons. But I'm not one of those people on twitter who spew hate on celebrities just cause we technically can. He used to be really active there. At least he didn't leave altogether, he just tweeted less.
