I doubt they would have had children on the road (unless it is unexpected) but once they settled it could have been different.

It really depended how long they were on the road for... And who knows. I sense they all started families early. But being on the road would be deterrant for a time, but if they settled down somewhere even on the run since they could get easy access to phony alias and other means, by way of powers if it really came to it.
Life always had it's own timetable for Max and Liz, Michael and Maria. So who knows what happened...
But baby Zan would be coming back into their lives at some point.
