I read a theory that would makes sense. Which is the reason why FP went to Riverdale High, is because the adults saw he could win the football games for them. What if the Northside wanted him to cut ties with the Southside/Serpents. But in the end while he choose family/loyalty over fame/fortune, Alice choose the opposite. I could see the town using FP as a poster boy, and when he told them he was done being their poster boy, they started treating him like garbage.
