see that you can work arounf but my cat does ruin our couches it use to be ok in the old house A) old couches B) he could go outside and use a tree .. but now new house he cant go outside anymore not until we fix the backyard and we have new couches which he has scratched already .. but we are trying to get a big scratching post so he can sleep and use it
