So she plays a cameo in the first film to promote the second film? To quote Christopher Nolan, "a real movie wouldn't do that." But again, I think that Zendaya is basically little more than a Mouseketeer promo in this movie. And why call the sequel, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2? How many Homecomings can they do?

I think Marvel being compromised by Disney will do nothing but negatively affect the characters and stories, dragonfire. Marvel will never have creative freedom now that they're being controlled by the Mickey Mouse Club. The DCEU and Fox's X-Men universe could very well eclipse the MCU at that rate.

As for Mystique, her position in the X-Men films has more to do with Bryan Singer than anything else. It wasn't J-Law that put Mystique front and center in the X-Men films, dragonfire, it was Rebecca Romijn. Fox cast that first X-Men film based on what was most feasible for them at the time, and Mystique's shape-changing was similar enough to the T-1000 that they thought it would be marketable. She was basically the "CGI" character mentioned sarcastically in Deadpool; a gimmick character. It was because of her presence in the original trilogy that she ended up in the First Class trilogy. And J-Law was still an unknown actress when she got cast as Mystique as she had only just received her first Oscar nomination for Winter's Bone that year and she hadn't even been cast in The Hunger Games yet. So it's not anywhere near like what the MCU is doing with Zendaya, which is just using a Marvel movie to promote a Disney kid. And there's simply no comparing Zendaya to Jennifer Lawrence, dragonfire.
