Indeed. It was her idea that reproduction should be brought back as a woman's most important role, so it must have been awful for her when she couldn't do that herself (probably because the Commander is sterile, as she noted in one of the eps).

Seems like it. But it's probably very hard for her to admit that even to herself because she seems to have truly believed she was changing the world for the better when she got involved with the Commander and that whole crowd.
