I'm not a big fan of Salem - I just couldn't get into it - but he did an awesome job in that role. He was sort of creepy - but at least in the episodes I watched, I couldn't really pin down if he was actually creepy or just sort of misguided and overwhelmed by his father's and other's shadows.
