I don't think the woman is in his head..... anyone with internet can find information out if so determined. She could have googled Sherlock, and then bought a burner phone to send the text to the detective. He did give her enough information about the case. She could have don some digging on her own
But then again.... I could be wrong. Who knows! Gotta watch the season finale! LOL!
