It was obvious I am not sure they were quite sure what to do with Sean or he came in when the show looked like it would go in a legitimate triangle with Max and Liz, but then after Vegas, it moved in a whole different direction so they used Sean in other ways...

I am afraid they not only used sean but sean/liz in other ways... ie for the benefit of max/tess
