I'd say original Degrassi was probably the first real teen drama, and it's still the greatest IMO, but 90210 is obviously one of the most significant.
I often feel the same way. However, there was a couple on Make It Or Break It who reminded me of Dylan and Kelly, but started in S1. They'd known each other for a while, though.

Well I think 90210 has had a way bigger impact on Pop Culture.
I liked Dawson/Joey & Ryan/Marissa from the start. Both couples intrigued me in promos to tape the pilots of DC & The OC. It's sad how badly both couples got treated by the writers. The latter really hurt the most.
Pacey/Joey became my OTP of DC & Seth/Summer OTP of The OC.
DC even made a few jokes about 90210.
Joey talking about staying home to watch the show since Luke Perry was back.
Pacey talked about how the gang were just one step away from the Peach Pit.
