I had the same interpretation as you regarding Tyler and Vicki, I didn't think it was anything romantic but that they were both there because of Matt. I saw that Zach thanked Julie on instagram for keeping Matt around all the way to the end. Not even hiding that he only has Julie's favoritism to thank. Without that you're doomed on this show.
