I agree although why all his anger is focused on Rumple and not Belle, I don't understand but there is hope when he couldn't kill his father.
I have to say during the pawn shop scene, I was waiting for Belle to turn to Rumple after Gideon's announcement that he is going to kill Emma and say "he gets that from you." I was also waiting for Rumple to turn around when Gideon said he wanted to kill Emma and become the hero for Rumple to turn to Belle and say: " He gets that from you!"
