^ Matt, I completely agree with you. I was a part of that decision, we both knew it was the right time to close the board and a lot of people were against it. But of course eventually the board eventually returned to the slow and low traffic.
I love this board so much, this is the board that made me mod and I had my first co-mod EVER in Matt. So, this one hurts but it's best for it to close this way.
I wish the new series brought more fans but I feel as the social media sites like twitter, facebook or even tumblr gets bigger, people prefer to chat about the show on those sites than on 
So, I'll miss the board but who knows, in the future, if the 24: Legacy series is still out and running, maybe it'll draw enough support and activity to bring the board back out.
