It sure was. It was so big that Back To The Future Part II got bumped to November that year. Not that it helped. I think Star Trek peaked in 1986, and by 1989 the franchise was getting a little worn out. Star Trek: TNG was still trying to find its own identity, and the movie franchise got way off track. The early 90's is when the Trek franchise started to figure out where it was gonna go from there, but it was kind of awkward. But 1982 to 1986 was just the best time to be a Trek fan.
