I think because 1) he's feeling the pressure to save Iris and in the past he's fallen short 2) he loves his powers so much.
So Wally is hiding something and another secret threatens Westallen's happiness. Damn, the team is falling apart at the seams. This better not put Iris at more risk of dying!
