Alex was wrong. Although some degree Jo had help in setting him off. Of course it was innocent, but it didn't look like it and Alex did think with Jo being drunk that she was in danger. He went to far... But if only she had been honest. But then Alex is known to lash out.

I don't think he thought she was in danger. She was laughing when he entered the room. No, he beat DeLuca because he was jealous that another man got what he wanted. They had a fight before when I remember right. He beat DeLuca of selfish reasons.
