I've just rewatched the couch chat scene to see if it makes sense on second viewing. It doesn't.
When Avery says 'What is going on here' I'm thinking yes please tell us Juliette because I have no idea either. And his 'oh my god' response to the unhappy line is literally my reaction too !!
