Don't really see how her feelings for Lucas resurfacing came out of nowhere when they hinted at for the most of season 3 and those hints weren't exactly subtle. If anything came out of nowhere that season, it was Peyton running back to Jake since she seemed prety much over him since the start of the season. I can't really use the time they spent together in season 1 as build up when she was in love with Lucas that season and was clearly still hung up on him at the end of season 1. I had the same issues with Brucas when it came to their 'build-up'.
