there's always something bad going on in his life and he can never have even a short happy time, without something terrible going on. IMO if he doesn't get his happy ending at the end of TVD, then it'll be terribly unfair to me.
I've felt for Caroline too, and even though I think it was a bit extreme when she temporarily broke off their engagement, I understand that at the time she had to put twins lives first, obviously. But I have a problem with her thinking that she's the source of danger to twins life. Seline choosed them because they were powerfull witches and because of their natural abilities. I hope someone will tell her that very soon, preferably in the next episode.
