Her story arc was beautiful and so touching. We really took a journey with her to discover her new identity, sans Richard. Even though she's still proud Emily Gilmore, she softened up a bit and began to see the silliness antics her DAR chapter was capable of which was HUGE leap forward! And to feel she has purpose and someone to care for now that Richard is gone, she's taken in the maid and her two children.
