It's based on a true story about a lawyer and functioning drug addict, Mike Weiss, who along with his partner, Paul Danziger, help a nurse who got pricked by a contaminated needle and an inventor whose single use, retractable needle was being refused as a safer method by the Group Purchasing Organization bring a class action lawsuit against hospital syringe distributors in America. Their hope was that by doing this, they could help nurses be better protected by accidental punctures. It's essentially two little guys going up against the big bad business. Unfortunately for Mike, his demons win out at the end.
