Yeah, I didn't know much about Virgil before this incident, but he seems like a jerk. Fans have been saying bad things about him for years it seems like. He's supposedly joked about rape and said he enjoys writing women get beat up because it's hot. Plus, there's reports out there that he was ordered to anger management when he was on ER for apparently threatening a co-worker because she was taking his spot on a softball team...
I saw a post on Tumblr that said "Thomas got fired for kicking Virgil so at least he went out a hero". Dang!
